Do I need to make a reservation?

Reservations are not required, but we highly recommend booking ahead to make sure the equipment you want is available.
From March through September, many of our most popular rentals, including e-bikes, water trampolines, towables, kayaks, and paddleboards, can sell out during busy weekends, holidays, and peak vacation weeks.
Advance reservations also help us schedule your delivery at the time that works best for your trip. Weekend and holiday reservations are especially encouraged so we can ensure adequate staffing and timely delivery.
Need something today? Give us a call! Same-day and short-notice rentals are often possible depending on equipment availability, your location, and our existing delivery schedule. During especially busy periods, we may need a day or more of advance notice.Planning ahead is the best way to guarantee your adventure, but we'll always do our best to get you on the water or on the trail!

Question 2

Are equipment rentals by hour or daily? Are there late fees?

At Pedals & Paddles, we don't believe you should spend your vacation watching the clock. Our rentals are all-day rentals with no hourly limits.
Standard rentals are due back by 8:00 AM the following morning.Members of our 11 AM Club receive an extended return time until 11:00 AM the following morning.The 11 AM Club is completely FREE to join and also gives members access to frequent renter rewards and other member benefits.
And don't worry, joining doesn't mean we're going to fill your inbox with weekly emails. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time and still remain an 11 AM Club member. Your extended return time and frequent renter benefits remain active even if you unsubscribe from promotional emails.
Multi-Day RentalsFor multi-day rentals, the day your rental begins is considered Day 1, regardless of the time your equipment is delivered or picked up. Your final return date and time will be shown on your reservation.
Standard Rental Late FeesFor customers who are not members of the 11 AM Club, equipment is due by 8:00 AM on the scheduled return date.

Late fees are based on the rental charges for the equipment returned late. Late returns may affect another guest's scheduled reservation or delivery. Question 3

What should we bring?

A little preparation goes a long way toward a great day outside! We recommend bringing plenty of water, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, snacks, and anything else you may want while you're out exploring. And of course, bring some positive energy and be ready to have fun!
Forgot something? We carry Sun Bum sunscreen, cold water, sunglasses, hats, dry bags, and other adventure essentials available for purchase.
For Kayaks, Canoes & PaddleboardsDress for the water and the weather. A swimsuit or lightweight, quick-drying shorts and shirt are ideal. Avoid heavy cotton clothing such as jeans and sweatshirts. Once wet, they can become heavy and uncomfortable.
Water shoes, secure sandals, or other footwear designed to get wet are recommended. On cooler or windy days, consider bringing a lightweight windbreaker or an extra layer.
Kayak and canoe rentals include paddles and life jackets. Paddleboard rentals include a paddle and the required board equipment, but no life jackets. Please review the safety information provided with your rental regarding life jackets and any requirements for the area where you will be paddling.
For Bikes & E-BikesWear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing that allows you to move freely. Closed-toe athletic shoes are recommended. Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat for when you are off the bike, and plenty of water are especially helpful for longer rides along the Gulf Coast.
Bike and e-bike rentals include a helmet. Depending on the bike selected, your rental will also include either a basket or an attached storage bag for carrying smaller personal items. E-bikes include an attached storage bag, but no basket option for e-bikes.
For Towables & Other Water EquipmentPlan to wear a swimsuit or other secure, water-friendly clothing. Towable riders must use an appropriate Type II or Type III life jacket. We recommend bringing your own properly fitting life jacket whenever possible. Life jackets are also available to rent from Pedals & Paddles.
Phones & Personal ItemsBring your phone or camera because you're probably going to want pictures! Just remember that anything you take onto the water can get wet or be lost overboard, and we are not responsible for any damaged or lost phones or personal items. So please ensure it has water proofing as salt water or sand can damage even weather and water resistant electronics. 
We have dry bags available for purchase to help protect phones, sunscreen, drinks, and other small belongings.
And if you forget the basics, don't worry. Ask us about Sun Bum sunscreen, water, sunglasses, hats, and other essentials before you head out.

Question 4

Do you deliver and pick up?

Yes! Pedals & Paddles offers convenient delivery and pickup throughout the Alabama Gulf Coast and surrounding areas.
One simple delivery fee covers both delivery AND pickup. It is not a separate charge each way.Delivery and pickup are FREE in Magnolia Springs and at designated Gulf State Park delivery locations. Other areas start at just $10.
Delivery fees are charged per order, not per individual rental item, when the order can reasonably be completed in one trip.
Large or oversized orders, generally more than six rental items, may require multiple trips and may result in additional delivery charges or adjusted delivery times. We will communicate any additional charges when applicable.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver throughout much of Baldwin County, the Alabama Gulf Coast, and select surrounding areas.

Question 6

Can you deliver directly to Gulf State Park?

Yes! Pedals & Paddles offers FREE delivery and pickup to approved locations within Gulf State Park.
Reservations must be made directly with Pedals & Paddles before delivery. We do not maintain a rental stand, solicit customers, park for the purpose of conducting on-site rental sales, or otherwise operate as an on-site rental concession inside Gulf State Park.
We simply deliver previously arranged rental equipment to our customers and retrieve it when the rental is complete.
This distinction is important because certain on-site rental services within the park may be operated under separate agreements or concessions.
Delivery location, park access, equipment restrictions, and other requirements remain subject to current park rules. Please provide your campsite, accommodation, or agreed delivery location when booking.
Already staying at Gulf State Park? Give us a call or book ahead and we'll bring the adventure to you.

Question 7

What time will my equipment be delivered?

Accepted Answer

For reservations made by the day before your rental, morning deliveries are guaranteed to arrive by 12:00 PM. Our goal is to have morning rentals delivered by 11:00 AM whenever scheduling allows.
If we deliver a qualifying morning reservation after 12:00 PM, we will apply 25% off the applicable first day's rental charge.
If delivery occurs after 2:00 PM, we will apply 50% off the applicable first day's rental charge.If we cannot reasonably complete the delivery beyond that time, we will contact you to discuss available options, which may include a later delivery, adjustment, cancellation, or rescheduling.
For a qualifying advance reservation not delivered by 12:00 PM, you may also elect to cancel the affected rental without a cancellation charge before accepting delivery.
Same-day reservations are different.Same-day rentals are subject to equipment, staffing, and delivery availability and do not have a guaranteed delivery time. We'll always do our best to get your adventure started as quickly as possible.
For daylight-dependent activities, we may decline or modify a same-day rental if there is not enough safe daylight remaining to reasonably use the equipment. A call shortly before sunset, for example, may not leave sufficient time for a full rental.
Our four-hour usable-day policy may also apply when determining partial-day or weather-related accommodations.

Question 8

Do I need to be present for delivery and pickup?

It depends on the equipment and delivery location.
For certain higher-value or specialized rentals, including some e-bikes, we may require an authorized renter to be present at delivery. This allows us to complete the handoff, verify the appropriate information, and familiarize you with the basic controls and features of the equipment.
Other equipment, such as kayaks or certain installed water equipment, may be delivered without the renter present when we have a safe and authorized location to leave or install it.
We may also be able to leave bikes at a private residence, approved vacation rental, designated campsite, or another secure location when circumstances allow.
We generally will not leave equipment unattended in public areas or anywhere we believe it cannot be safely or appropriately stored.
Whether unattended delivery or pickup is permitted is determined by Pedals & Paddles based on the equipment, location, value, accessibility, security, and circumstances of the rental.
If you need a contactless delivery or pickup, let us know when booking and we'll tell you whether we can accommodate it.

Question 9

Can you deliver to my condo, hotel, Airbnb, campground, or vacation rental?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We regularly deliver to vacation accommodations throughout our service area.
We can deliver to many hotels, condominiums, Airbnb and other vacation rentals, campgrounds, private homes, and similar properties as long as delivery and storage are permitted by the property.
Please check with your hotel, host, condominium association, campground, or property management company before booking.
Individual properties may have restrictions regarding rental equipment, delivery vehicles, bicycle storage, kayaks, trailers, commercial deliveries, parking, or where equipment may be left.The renter is responsible for obtaining any necessary property permission and complying with the property's rules.
If a property has special delivery instructions, gate codes, designated loading areas, or other access requirements, please provide them to us before your scheduled delivery.

Question 10

What is included with my rental?

What's included depends on the equipment you choose.
Bikes & E-Bikes include a properly sized helmet and either an attached storage bag or basket depending on the model. E-bikes include an attached storage bag, and chargers are provided with applicable overnight and multi-day e-bike rentals. Bike and e-bike locks are also provided.
Kayaks, Stand-Up Paddleboards, Canoes include the appropriate paddle or paddles and required PFDs.
Towables, Water Bouncers, Floating Docks & Specialty Equipment vary by product. Required attachments or equipment necessary for the rental's intended setup will be identified with the rental. Towable PFDs may be available separately when they are not included.
Some accessories and recreational equipment may have different inclusions, so check the individual rental listing or ask our team if you're unsure.
We also sell adventure essentials such as Sun Bum sunscreen, water, sunglasses, hats, dry bags, and other useful items.

Question 11

Can I consume alcohol or other substances when renting equipment? What about medication?

Accepted Answer

No. Alcohol, recreational drugs, illegal substances, or any other intoxicating or impairing substances may not be consumed while operating or actively using Pedals & Paddles rental equipment.Rental equipment may not be operated or used while under the influence of any substance that could impair your judgment, balance, coordination, reaction time, vision, or ability to safely operate the equipment.
This also applies to prescription and over-the-counter medications. If a medication causes drowsiness, dizziness, slowed reaction time, impaired judgment, or carries a warning against driving or operating machinery, you should not operate or use our rental equipment while affected by that medication.
This policy applies regardless of whether a substance or medication is legal, legally prescribed, or otherwise permitted under state or local law.
Operating bikes, e-bikes, watercraft, towables, or other recreational equipment while impaired can result in serious injury or death to you or others.
If you are unsure whether you can safely use the equipment, don't take the risk. Wait until you are no longer impaired before participating.
We want you to have an incredible time, but safety always comes first.

Question 12

Do I need experience to rent these types of equipment?

Experience is not required for all rental equipment, but renters should have the basic knowledge, physical ability, and experience necessary to safely participate in the activity and operate the equipment they choose to rent.
Some equipment and activities require more skill, balance, strength, or experience than others. Each renter is responsible for determining whether an activity and the current conditions are appropriate for their individual abilities and experience level.
Upon request, a Pedals & Paddles team member may provide a basic overview of certain equipment, controls, features, or manufacturer-provided safety information. Any such overview is provided only as a general equipment familiarization and should not be considered professional instruction, training, certification, or a determination that a renter is qualified or capable of safely operating the equipment.
Renters remain responsible for understanding how to safely use the equipment, following manufacturer instructions and warnings, obeying applicable laws and regulations, monitoring weather and environmental conditions, and operating within their own abilities and experience.Conditions can change quickly, particularly on the water. Wind, waves, currents, weather, boat traffic, terrain, traffic, and other environmental conditions can significantly increase the difficulty and risks associated with an activity.
If you are unfamiliar with an activity or are unsure whether you can safely operate a particular piece of equipment, we recommend obtaining appropriate instruction or experience before participating.
When in doubt, choose an activity and equipment that match your experience and comfort level.

Question 13

Is there an age limit or other restrictions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Age and participation requirements vary depending on the type of equipment, manufacturer requirements, location, and applicable state or local laws.
Renters must be 18 years of age or older. Anyone under 18 participating in a rental must have the rental agreement and applicable waivers completed by their parent or legal guardian and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is 18 years of age or older.
E-BikesPedals & Paddles requires all e-bike operators to be at least 16 years old.A valid government-issued photo ID, driver's license, or learner's permit is required for e-bike rentals. A driver's license is not necessarily required by state law to operate an e-bike, but identification is required under our rental policy.
Anyone under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian execute the applicable rental agreement, waiver, and consent forms.
Helmets are provided with our bike and e-bike rentals and must be worn while riding.
Additional restrictions may apply depending on the class of e-bike and where it is being operated.

Riders are responsible for following all applicable state laws, local ordinances, trail rules, posted restrictions, and other regulations.
Water & Recreational EquipmentAge, weight, capacity, supervision, and other restrictions may vary by equipment. Renters and supervising adults are responsible for reviewing and following all manufacturer warnings, equipment restrictions, applicable laws, and safety requirements.
Children and minors should only participate when a parent or legal guardian determines that the equipment and activity are appropriate for their age, size, abilities, experience, and current conditions.
We carry children's life jackets beginning at approximately 30 pounds. If you're bringing a child who weighs less than 30 pounds, please bring an appropriately sized and properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved infant life jacket.
Local Rules May Be DifferentState laws are only part of the picture. Cities, counties, parks, trails, beaches, waterways, and other jurisdictions may establish additional age limits, equipment restrictions, operating rules, or prohibited areas.
Renters are responsible for knowing and following the laws and rules applicable to the location where the equipment will be used.
If you're unsure whether a particular rental is appropriate for someone in your group, give us a call before booking. We'll be happy to provide information about the equipment and our rental requirements, but the renter, parent, or legal guardian is ultimately responsible for determining whether a participant can safely and legally participate.

Question 14

Should I be concerned about wildlife?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Wildlife is a natural part of exploring the Gulf Coast, rivers, lakes, beaches, trails, and other outdoor areas where our equipment may be used.
Depending on your location, you may encounter alligators, snakes, sharks, jellyfish, stingrays, insects, birds, marine life, and other wild animals. Wildlife can be unpredictable, and encounters can result in serious injury or death.
Wildlife isn't limited to the water. When biking or e-biking, riders may encounter wildlife crossing trails or roadways. Even domesticated animals, including dogs, can react unexpectedly to bicycles, e-bikes, or passing riders.
Never approach, touch, feed, chase, provoke, capture, or otherwise interact with wildlife. Always maintain a safe distance and give animals plenty of room to move away.
Before beginning your rental, we recommend familiarizing yourself with the wildlife commonly found in the area you plan to explore. Review information and safety guidance provided by the appropriate park, wildlife agency, waterway authority, or other local officials, including what to do if you encounter potentially dangerous wildlife.
Conditions, wildlife populations, and animal behavior can vary significantly by location and season. Pedals & Paddles cannot predict what wildlife you may encounter or guarantee that an area is free from potentially dangerous animals.
If you encounter wildlife that appears aggressive, distressed, injured, or unusually close, do not approach it. Maintain a safe distance, leave the area when it is safe to do so, and contact the appropriate local authority when necessary.
Renters are responsible for remaining aware of their surroundings, researching the areas they choose to explore, and understanding the potential wildlife hazards associated with outdoor recreation.
Respect the wildlife, give it plenty of space, and enjoy the adventure from a safe distance.

Question 15

What happens if the weather becomes unsafe? Do I get refunded?

Accepted Answer

Your safety comes first. Rental equipment should never be used during lightning, severe thunderstorms, dangerous winds, hazardous surf or water conditions, flooding, or other weather or environmental conditions that make the activity unsafe.
If unsafe weather develops during your rental, discontinue use of the equipment and seek a safe location. Equipment should be safely secured or stowed when it is reasonable and safe to do so. Never put yourself or anyone else in danger attempting to retrieve, move, secure, or protect rental equipment.
Renters are responsible for monitoring current and changing weather and environmental conditions throughout their rental.
Weather Refunds & Rain ChecksWeather along the Gulf Coast can change quickly, and rain or storms during part of the day do not necessarily make an entire rental day unusable.
For purposes of our weather policy, a combined total of four hours of reasonably safe and usable conditions during the rental day is considered a usable full-day rental. These hours do not have to be consecutive. For example, two hours of safe conditions in the morning and two hours later in the day may constitute a usable rental day.
We do not automatically issue refunds, credits, or rain checks due to rain, thunderstorms, wind, temperature, or other changing weather conditions.
However, we understand that weather doesn't always cooperate with your vacation. If weather significantly impacts your ability to safely enjoy your rental, please contact us. Depending on the circumstances, equipment availability, and conditions during your rental period, we may be able to work with you on a future rental date or another accommodation.
Any weather-related refund, credit, rescheduling, or rain check is not guaranteed and is provided solely at the discretion of Pedals & Paddles.
If Pedals & Paddles cancels a rental before it begins because we determine conditions are unsafe or we are unable to provide the rental due to severe weather, our cancellation policies applicable to company-initiated cancellations will apply.
Most importantly, never continue using rental equipment because you are concerned about qualifying for a refund or getting enough time from your rental. If conditions appear unsafe, stop using the equipment and get to safety.

Question 16

What happens if equipment is lost, stolen, damaged, or not returned?

Accepted Answer

Renters are responsible for rental equipment from the time it is delivered or picked up until it is returned to or recovered by Pedals & Paddles.
We understand that rental equipment is used outdoors and normal wear and tear happens. We do not charge customers for ordinary wear and tear resulting from normal, responsible use. Our team is familiar with the normal wear associated with our equipment, and damage charges are uncommon when equipment is used and cared for properly.
Lost, Stolen, or Unreturned EquipmentIf rental equipment is lost, stolen, or not returned, the renter may be responsible for the cost of replacing the equipment.
Replacement charges are based on our actual cost to replace the lost equipment with a new, comparable item. Depending on the equipment and how it is sourced, this may be our wholesale cost, retail replacement cost, or another reasonable replacement cost applicable at the time of loss.
We understand that rental equipment may have been used prior to your rental. However, when equipment must be replaced because of loss, theft, or damage beyond repair, Pedals & Paddles must purchase replacement equipment. For this reason, replacement charges may reflect the cost of a new replacement, rather than the perceived used value of the item that was lost or damaged.
Locks are provided with our bike and e-bike rentals. Renters are responsible for properly securing bikes and e-bikes whenever they are left unattended. Theft does not automatically relieve the renter of responsibility for the equipment.
Damaged EquipmentIf equipment is damaged, we will inspect it to determine whether it can be safely repaired.When practical, customers will only be responsible for the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing the damaged component rather than replacing the entire rental item. This may include parts, materials, specialized service, and reasonable labor necessary to return the equipment to safe operating condition.
If the equipment is damaged beyond safe or economical repair, the renter may be responsible for its replacement cost.
Normal Wear & TearNormal wear and tear is not considered customer damage. Minor wear resulting from ordinary and responsible use is an expected part of operating rental equipment.
Damage caused by misuse, negligence, horseplay, improper transportation, unauthorized modifications or repairs, failure to properly secure equipment, ignoring manufacturer restrictions, using equipment for an unintended purpose, or continuing to use equipment after a known problem or damage occurs is not considered normal wear and tear.
Renters should not transport or relocate equipment in a vehicle, trailer, roof rack, truck bed, or other transportation method unless permitted by Pedals & Paddles. Damage that occurs during unauthorized or improper transportation may be charged to the renter.
If something happens, contact us right away.Accidents happen. If equipment is damaged, lost, stolen, or involved in an accident, please contact Pedals & Paddles as soon as reasonably possible. Do not attempt repairs or continue using equipment that may be unsafe.
Promptly letting us know about a problem gives us the best opportunity to help, evaluate the equipment, and keep a small problem from becoming a much larger one.

Question 17

Can I leave rental equipment unattended? Where to stow it?

Accepted Answer

Yes, rental equipment may be left unattended when necessary, but it must be properly secured and stored in a safe and permitted location. Renters remain responsible for the equipment throughout the entire rental period, including any time the equipment is left unattended.
Bikes & E-BikesLocks are provided with our bike and e-bike rentals and should be used whenever the equipment is left unattended.
Bikes should be locked to an appropriate, secure bicycle rack or other permitted fixed object. Do not leave bikes or e-bikes unsecured outside restaurants, stores, attractions, vacation rentals, or other locations, even for a short period of time.
Whenever possible, store bikes overnight in a secure location permitted by your hotel, condominium, campground, or vacation rental. Always follow the property's rules regarding bicycle storage.
Kayaks, Canoes, Banana Boats, Towables, Wakeboards, Paddleboards, and other Water EquipmentPortable water equipment should be removed from the water and securely stored when it is not being used.
Do not leave this equipment floating, partially secured in the water, or in a location where tides, waves, currents, wind, boat wakes, or changing water levels could move or damage it.
Anchored Water Bouncers, Water Trampolines & Floating DocksWater bouncers, water trampolines, floating docks, and similar equipment that Pedals & Paddles has installed and properly anchored are designed to remain on the water and may be left unattended while properly anchored.
Do not move, relocate, disconnect, modify, or attempt to change the anchoring system unless specifically authorized by Pedals & Paddles.
Weather conditions can change quickly. If severe or inclement weather is expected and you have concerns about anchored equipment, please contact our team. Pedals & Paddles may also contact you and may retrieve, secure, relocate, or remove equipment when we believe conditions warrant doing so.
This may include tropical storms, hurricanes, severe thunderstorms, unusually high winds, flooding, significant changes in water level, or other potentially hazardous conditions.
Never put yourself or anyone else in danger attempting to retrieve, move, secure, or protect rental equipment during severe or changing weather. If conditions are unsafe, get yourself and others to safety and contact us when it is safe to do so.
All Rental EquipmentDo not leave rental equipment in roadways, bike lanes, trails, sidewalks, beach access points, boat ramps, navigation channels, emergency access areas, or anywhere else it could obstruct traffic, navigation, or create a hazard. Never store or leave equipment where you are blocking emergency exits or fire hydrants. 
Always obtain permission before storing equipment on private property and follow the rules of your hotel, condominium, campground, marina, park, or vacation rental.
Pedals & Paddles is not responsible for equipment that is stolen, moved, damaged, impounded, removed, or lost while left unattended.

Question 18

Can someone else use the equipment I rented?

Accepted Answer

Only individuals who are authorized under the rental agreement and have completed or are covered by all required waivers may use Pedals & Paddles rental equipment.
Rental equipment may not be loaned, transferred, subleased, or otherwise provided to friends, family members, guests, neighbors, or other individuals who are not authorized participants under the rental.
Want to share the equipment with someone in your group?That's usually not a problem! They simply need to be added as an authorized participant and complete any required waiver or acknowledgment before using the equipment. Age, identification, parental or guardian consent, and other requirements may apply depending on the equipment.
For minors, the appropriate parent or legal guardian must complete any required agreements, waivers, or consent on their behalf.
The person who originally rents the equipment remains responsible for the rental equipment throughout the rental period, including when it is being used by another authorized participant.
Allowing an unauthorized person to use rental equipment is considered misuse of the equipment and may result in termination of the rental without refund and additional charges when applicable.
If someone wants to join the fun after your rental has already started, contact us before allowing them to use the equipment. We can help determine what needs to be completed to add them to the rental.
If they're not authorized under the rental, they shouldn't use the equipment.

Question 19

Can I transport the rental equipment myself?

In general, we recommend that you do not transport Pedals & Paddles rental equipment yourself. Our equipment can often be relocated for a small additional fee, and contacting us is usually the safest and easiest option. At no time can or will our team members or associates aid in securing equipment to person vehicles, vessels, trailers, cargo trailers, etc. This is for your personal safety and the safety of your personal property. If you are picking up equipment, you are responsible for proper transportation equipment such as racks, tie-downs, etc. 
If you need to transport rental equipment during your rental, please contact us first. Different equipment requires specific transportation methods, racks, weight capacities, tie-down points, and other precautions.
Bikes & E-BikesBikes and e-bikes may only be transported using a properly installed bicycle rack designed for the type, size, and weight of the bicycle being transported.
E-bikes are significantly heavier than traditional bicycles. The rack, hitch, vehicle, and all related components must be rated to safely carry the combined weight of the bikes being transported.Bikes and e-bikes may not be transported unsecured or placed loose in the bed of a pickup truck, trailer, cargo area, or similar location.
Hanging, securing, or supporting a bike in a manner that places inappropriate pressure on the frame, wheels, brake components, drivetrain, cables, battery, display, or other components is prohibited.
Kayaks & Rigid PaddleboardsKayaks and rigid stand-up paddleboards require an appropriate kayak or paddleboard transportation system designed for the equipment being carried.
Standard vehicle luggage or crossbars alone may not provide an appropriate method of securing the equipment. Proper racks, padding, straps, and attachment points must be used.
Rigid paddleboards and other equipment requiring front and rear tie-downs must be secured accordingly. A rigid paddleboard may not simply be strapped to luggage bars or placed on the roof of a vehicle without an appropriate SUP transportation system and required tie-downs.
Kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards may not be transported loose or unsecured in pickup beds, trailers, on vehicle roofs, or in other cargo areas.
Towables & Inflatable EquipmentInflatable towables and similar equipment should not be transported while inflated unless Pedals & Paddles has specifically approved the transportation method.
Towables that must be relocated generally need to be properly deflated before transportation and reinflated using the correct equipment and manufacturer-specified air pressure.
When Pedals & Paddles delivers and inflates a towable at your location, an inflation pump may not be included with the rental. Attempting to reinflate equipment without the appropriate pump, pressure gauge, adapters, or knowledge of the proper inflation pressure can damage the equipment.Overinflation, underinflation, improper folding, dragging, improper securing, or transportation while inflated can result in permanent damage.
Responsibility During TransportationAny transportation of rental equipment by the renter or another authorized person is performed at the renter's responsibility.
Even when an appropriate transportation method is used, the renter assumes responsibility for loss or damage occurring while the equipment is being loaded, unloaded, secured, transported, relocated, or removed from the transportation system.
Damage caused by improper transportation is not considered normal wear and tear and may result in repair or replacement charges.
Need to move your equipment? Call us first.In many cases, Pedals & Paddles can relocate your rental equipment for you for a small additional fee. This is often the easiest way to avoid damaging the equipment, your vehicle, or someone else's property.
If you plan to transport rental equipment yourself, please contact us before doing so. We can confirm whether transportation is permitted and what transportation requirements apply to your specific rental.

Question 20

Can I take rental equipment outside the delivery area?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Our delivery area determines where Pedals & Paddles provides standard delivery and pickup service. It does not necessarily limit where you may use your rental equipment.
You are welcome to explore outside our normal delivery area as long as the equipment is legally permitted at your destination, you have permission to access the property or waterway, and the equipment is transported and used in accordance with our rental policies.
Know Before You GoRenters are responsible for confirming that rental equipment is permitted wherever they choose to take it.
Do not enter or cross private property without permission. This includes private roads, trails, beaches, docks, boat launches, waterfront property, gated communities, and other restricted areas.Parks, cities, counties, states, beaches, waterways, trail systems, wildlife areas, private communities, and other jurisdictions may have their own rules regarding bicycles, e-bikes, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, towables, and other recreational equipment.
You are responsible for checking applicable laws, posted restrictions, access requirements, permits, entrance or launch fees, parking requirements, operating hours, and other rules before entering or using an area.
Taking Equipment Across State LinesRental equipment may be used outside Alabama or Florida unless otherwise restricted by your rental agreement or the specific equipment being rented.
When entering another state or jurisdiction, you are responsible for following all laws and regulations applicable at that location.
Changing Your Pickup LocationYour original delivery and pickup fee is based on the locations scheduled with your reservation.You may request pickup at a different location, but additional delivery or retrieval charges may apply.When the original delivery location and final pickup location have different published delivery rates, the higher of the two delivery-area rates will apply to the reservation.
For example, if we deliver your equipment to Orange Beach for $10 and you later request pickup in Pensacola, where our standard delivery and pickup rate is $25, an additional $15 would be due.
Please contact us before changing your pickup location. A different pickup location is subject to our ability to accommodate the request based on distance, staffing, scheduling, access, and other circumstances.
Pickup Outside Our Published Delivery AreasTaking equipment beyond our listed service areas can result in substantially higher retrieval charges.Unless another rate is agreed upon in advance, retrieval from a location outside our published delivery areas may be charged at $1 per mile, based on the one-way driving distance from our Magnolia Springs, Alabama warehouse to the location of the equipment.
When long-distance retrieval reasonably requires additional travel, Pedals & Paddles may also charge reasonable labor and lodging expenses associated with recovering the equipment.Lodging charges will not exceed $250, and additional retrieval labor charges will not exceed $250, for a combined maximum of $500 in additional lodging and labor charges, plus the applicable mileage-based retrieval charge.
For example, leaving equipment approximately 489 driving miles from our Magnolia Springs warehouse could result in a $489 retrieval charge, plus any applicable and reasonable labor or lodging expenses required for retrieval.
These charges are intended to cover extraordinary retrieval costs and are separate from rental charges, late fees, damage charges, or other amounts that may be due under the rental agreement.
Equipment More Than 500 Miles AwayPedals & Paddles does not provide retrieval service for rental equipment taken more than 500 driving miles from our Magnolia Springs, Alabama warehouse, unless we specifically agree otherwise in writing.
Equipment left, abandoned, or otherwise requiring recovery more than 500 driving miles away may be considered lost or unreturned equipment.
In that situation, the renter will be responsible for the full replacement cost of the equipment, along with applicable freight, shipping, stocking, and other reasonable costs necessary to replace the item.
Returning equipment to Pedals & Paddles remains the renter's responsibility even when the equipment has been taken outside our normal service area.
TransportationTaking equipment outside our delivery area does not change our transportation requirements. Equipment must always be transported using an appropriate and permitted transportation method.Please review our transportation policy or contact us before moving bikes, e-bikes, kayaks, canoes, rigid paddleboards, towables, or other equipment.
Plan your return before you travel. If you want to finish your adventure somewhere other than your original pickup location, give us a call. In many cases we can accommodate it, and we'll let you know about any additional pickup charges before making the change.

Question 21

What should I do if equipment stops working or is damaged during my rental?

Accepted Answer

If your rental equipment stops working, becomes damaged, or you notice something that may affect its safe operation, stop using the equipment and contact Pedals & Paddles as soon as reasonably possible.
Do not continue using equipment that appears damaged, unsafe, or is behaving unexpectedly. Continuing to operate damaged equipment can create additional damage and may result in serious injury or death.
Please do not attempt repairs yourself.Do not disassemble, modify, adjust, repair, or replace components without authorization from Pedals & Paddles. This also includes taking rental equipment to a bicycle shop, marina, repair facility, mechanic, or other third party without our approval.
Contact our team first and describe the problem. Photos or videos may help us determine what happened and the best way to assist you.
Can you come to me?In many cases, yes. Pedals & Paddles operates a mobile service unit and may be able to perform certain minor repairs in the field, including basic bicycle and e-bike repairs such as flat tires, tubes, chains, and other minor serviceable components.
Depending on the situation, we may attempt a repair, exchange the equipment, retrieve it, or provide another appropriate solution.
Major or structural repairs, including frame welding, significant electrical repairs, fiberglass or structural vessel repairs, and similar specialized work are not performed through our mobile service.Mobile assistance depends on your location, accessibility, staffing, existing deliveries and pickups, weather, traffic, parts, equipment availability, and the nature of the problem. Response times and on-site assistance are not guaranteed.
If you're stranded, put your safety first.Do not rely on Pedals & Paddles mobile assistance as an emergency response, rescue, towing, medical, or guaranteed roadside assistance service.
Always plan your activity with enough water, sun protection, necessary medications, a charged phone when practical, and other supplies appropriate for your route, weather, distance, and activity.If a mechanical problem leaves you stranded, move yourself to a safe location when you can safely do so and contact us.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, are in immediate danger, or cannot safely remain where you are, call 911 or the appropriate emergency authority. Do not wait for Pedals & Paddles to arrive.
Will I be charged for the repair?Ordinary mechanical failures and normal wear and tear that occur during responsible use generally do not result in a repair charge to the renter.
Damage resulting from misuse, negligence, horseplay, improper transportation, unauthorized repairs or modifications, continuing to operate damaged equipment, or other renter-caused damage may result in repair, service, retrieval, or replacement charges.
Most importantly, if something doesn't seem right, stop using it and give us a call. We'd much rather address a small problem than have you continue using equipment that may be unsafe.

Do you offer weekly and monthly rentals?

Yes!
Many of our most popular rentals are available at discounted weekly and monthly rates, including bikes, e-bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, and other select equipment.
Longer rentals can offer significant savings compared with paying the daily rate for each day.Availability and long-term pricing vary by equipment and season. Check the individual rental listing for current rates or contact us if you need something for an extended period.

Question 23

Do you offer Snowbird and J-1 long-term rentals?

Yes! We offer extended rental options designed for Snowbirds, J-1 participants, seasonal workers, and other extended-stay visitors.
Bikes and e-bikes can be particularly convenient for getting around during a longer stay without needing to purchase equipment you'll only use temporarily.
Weekly and monthly pricing is available on select equipment, and longer arrangements may be available depending on season and fleet availability.
Contact us if your stay extends beyond our published rental periods and we'll let you know what options are available.

Question 24

Can I extend my rental after it has started?

Accepted Answer

Usually, yes!
If you're having too much fun to bring it back, contact us before your scheduled return time and ask about extending your rental.
Extensions are subject to availability. Another customer may already have the equipment reserved after your scheduled return, particularly during weekends, holidays, and peak season.An extension is not confirmed until Pedals & Paddles approves it and any applicable additional rental charges are accepted.
Please don't simply keep the equipment beyond your scheduled return time without contacting us. An unapproved extension is considered a late return and applicable late fees may apply.

Question 25

What forms of payment do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept most major credit and debit cards, Venmo, and cash.
We do not accept personal checks or money orders.
Cash payments are subject to our ability to provide change. We may be unable to accept bills larger than $20 or cash transactions when appropriate change is unavailable.
A valid payment card may still be required to remain on file during and for a reasonable period following the rental, even when the rental itself is paid in cash or through another accepted payment method.
Additional identification or payment requirements may apply to certain equipment.

Question 26

Is a security deposit required?

Accepted Answer

A security deposit is not normally required for standard Pedals & Paddles rentals.
Instead, we generally require a valid payment card to remain securely on file during the rental and for a reasonable period afterward to allow for authorized charges associated with the rental agreement, including applicable late fees, damage, missing equipment, extraordinary cleaning, or other amounts properly due.
Paying for a rental with cash, Venmo, or another accepted payment method does not necessarily eliminate the card-on-file requirement.
Pedals & Paddles reserves the right to require a security deposit, payment authorization, additional identification, or other reasonable security for certain rentals. This may include high-value equipment, extended rentals, unusually large orders, or other circumstances where additional security is appropriate.
Any security deposit requirement will be communicated before the applicable rental is completed.

Question 27

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Accepted Answer

We understand that vacation plans change.
You may cancel a reservation through 11:59 PM on the day before your scheduled rental without a cancellation charge. If you need to e-mail, text, or leave a voicemail for cancellation outside of our store hours, that is acceptable, and our morning team will verify. 
Cancellations made on the scheduled rental date, including same-day reservations that are subsequently canceled, may be subject to a charge equal to 25% of the applicable rental amount.Once equipment has been delivered or the rental has begun, cancellation may result in a charge of at least the applicable first day's rental rate.
No-shows, unavailable customers, denied property access, or other circumstances where we arrive for a confirmed delivery but cannot reasonably complete the rental may also result in the applicable first-day charge and any other charges permitted under the rental agreement.
Ending a Multi-Day Rental EarlyYou may contact us to end a multi-day, weekly, or monthly rental early.We'll do our best to apply the most appropriate available pricing based on the actual rental period. However, returning equipment early does not automatically result in a prorated refund.
Discounted weekly or monthly pricing may be recalculated using the applicable shorter-term rates. Because of this, returning a weekly or monthly rental early may result in little or no refund depending on the number of days the equipment was used.
Weather CancellationsWe do not want anyone using equipment in unsafe weather.Same-day weather cancellations may be accepted when significant unsafe or inclement weather is occurring or reasonably forecast for the applicable rental area and period.For consistency, Pedals & Paddles will verify weather conditions using  the National Weather Service rather than customer-provided screenshots or forecasts from other third-party applications.
Brief or isolated periods of rain do not necessarily qualify an entire rental day for cancellation. Our separate weather policy, including our four-hour usable-conditions standard, may apply.
Weather accommodations, credits, rescheduling, and refunds remain subject to the circumstances and discretion of Pedals & Paddles.
Have an emergency or unusual circumstance? Please contact us. We understand that unexpected things happen and will review extenuating circumstances individually.

Question 28

Do you offer group rentals?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We can accommodate group rentals, although we do not currently offer an automatic group discount.
For orders involving more than six rental items, please contact us before booking.
Larger orders can require additional vehicles, delivery trips, equipment preparation, staffing, or scheduling accommodations. Additional delivery charges may apply when an order cannot reasonably be completed in a single trip.
Planning ahead gives us the best opportunity to have everything ready and delivered together.

Question 29

Can you accommodate large families, weddings, corporate events, churches, reunions, or other groups?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely.
Pedals & Paddles can accommodate many large family gatherings, weddings, corporate events, church groups, reunions, vacation groups, and other organized activities.
Advance planning is strongly recommended.
Large groups can require significant equipment inventory, additional staffing, multiple delivery vehicles or trips, and coordinated delivery and pickup times.
Contact us with your date, location, number of participants, and the equipment you're interested in, and we'll determine what we can accommodate.

Question 30

Do you offer discounts for renting multiple items?

Accepted Answer

We do not currently offer an automatic multi-item or group discount.
Our pricing is designed to remain competitive whether you're renting one item or outfitting an entire family.
Weekly and monthly rentals already include substantial savings compared with purchasing multiple individual rental days, and promotional offers may occasionally be available separately.

How does the 11 AM Club work?

Accepted Answer

The 11 AM Club is completely FREE to join and comes with real benefits.
The biggest one is right in the name.
Standard rentals are due back by 8:00 AM the following day. 11 AM Club members get until 11:00 AM, giving you three extra hours before your rental is due back.
Membership also provides access to our frequent renter rewards, member benefits, occasional offers, and other perks.
Joining the 11 AM Club includes enrollment in our marketing communications, but we don't want to fill your inbox simply to remind you that we exist.
Our goal is to make an email from Pedals & Paddles worth opening.
We use marketing communications for meaningful updates, offers, discounts, new adventures, and information we think actually provides value. We're not interested in sending constant newsletters or virtual pokes just for the sake of appearing in your inbox.
You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time without losing your 11 AM Club membership, extended return-time benefit, or eligible frequent renter rewards.
11 AM Club benefits, reward structures, tiers, eligibility requirements, and other program terms are subject to change.

How do frequent renter rewards work?

Eligible rentals can help members earn rewards and progress through available membership tiers according to the current rewards program.
Rewards, earning requirements, tiers, redemption options, exclusions, expiration rules, and other program terms may change as the program evolves. Rewards never hold cash or redeemable cash value.

We work hard to keep our everyday rental prices affordable, which means we operate on relatively small margins. Our 5% discount may not be the biggest recognition discount you'll find, but it is our way of saying thank you to the people who serve, protect, teach, care for, and support our communities.
Verification is required.
A valid ID, professional credential, military or veteran identification, school identification, or other current documentation showing eligibility must be presented when requested.
When the credential normally has an expiration or renewal date, it must be current and valid.
We do not offer the discount based solely on verbal representation or the honor system. We appreciate that the overwhelming majority of the people these discounts recognize are proud to provide their credentials, and verification helps us protect the program so it remains available for those it was created to recognize.
How does the discount apply?
The 5% discount applies to one eligible rental in each rental category for the eligible individual.For example, an eligible customer could receive the discount on:One bikeOne e-bikeOne kayakOne paddleboard
However, the discount would not apply to two bikes, two e-bikes, two kayaks, or multiple units within the same category simply because one eligible individual is placing the reservation.
For group or family reservations with multiple eligible individuals, each person seeking the discount must independently meet and verify the eligibility requirements, and the applicable rental must be associated with that eligible participant.
The discount applies to rental equipment only. It does not apply to retail merchandise, delivery and pickup charges, setup or installation fees, damage or cleaning charges, taxes, or other fees.
Recognition discounts may not be combined with other discounts, promotional pricing, coupons, or special offers unless specifically stated otherwise.
